Only those licenced by the BSA, registered architects or registered engineers are permitted to design buildings and prepare plans for builders or consumers in Queensland.
BDAQ was formed in 1990 to give recognition to a profession of critical importance to the building industry.
It is estimated that between 75 and 80% of dwellings and around 45% of commercial buildings are designed by Building Designers.
BDAQ operates with a branch structure comprising 11 branches covering all areas from Far North Queensland to the Gold Coast and has a close association with the Building Designers Association of the Northern Territory (BDANT).
The mission of the BDAQ is to promote the pursuit of excellence and integrity within the building design profession and to support and promote building designers in Queensland working within a local, national and international context to guide building designers to a position of respect and dignity in the design and building industries. |
